How to play Brakk

  1. Deal and peek.

Everyone gets 4 cards face down. Peek at your bottom 2, then remember them.

  2. Draw and swap.

On your turn, draw from the deck, or take the top discard. Keep the card in place of one of yours, or throw a deck card away. A card taken from the discard must be kept and has no power.

  3. Use the powers.

Draw a power card from the deck and you can play a trick (powers only work on cards taken from the deck):

    • 7–8Peek Titwila: look at one of your own cards.
    • 9–10Spy Spjunaġġ: look at someone else's card.
    • 11–12Swap Tpartit: swap any of your cards with any opponent's card, without looking.
    • 13Peek or Spy, then Swap.
  4. Match!

Whenever a card lands on the discard pile, anyone can throw down a card of the same number, yours or an opponent's, even one you haven't seen. Match an opponent's card and you give them one of yours face down. Get it wrong and you take a penalty card. The BRAKK caller can't match, and their cards are locked.

  5. Shout BRAKK!

Think you're lowest? Call it. Everyone gets one last turn, then all cards are revealed and the lowest total wins. If you are not strictly lowest (a tie counts as wrong), you take a 50-point penalty. The game ends when someone reaches 100; the lowest score wins.

About us

We make the games we want to play

Spaced is a small, independent card game brand from Malta, and every game is designed by Stephen Pace Asciak. It all starts with a love of game nights: the laughter, the groans, the moment someone slams down a winning card. We tinker with rules again and again until they finally click, then playtest with friends and family until the table won't let us stop.

We pour Malta into every deck, with its places, its words and its stories, often in both Maltese and English. And we make our games free to play in your browser, because a good game should be for everyone.
